Malaysian finally can withdraw Paypal funds

October 20th, 2007 by Chris

Paypal logoThis is the best news ever to me and of course to all Malaysian. Malaysian can finally withdraw their hard-earned Paypal funds. Ever since Paypal was introduced back in year 1994 in Malaysia, we had been going round and round searching for the solution to withdraw our Paypal funds, we ended up paying more unnecessary fees for the access to US bank account, lot of time and money were spent in order to get the withdrawal work. Now, the withdrawal option is finally open to 26 more countries, including Malaysia.

Withdrawal limits and fees
There’s a minimum withdrawal amount of US$10. Paypal withdrawal to your Visa Debit Card costs US$5 per withdrawal and you can withdraw up to US$500 per day, meaning that you can withdraw up to US$15k per month, that’s good enough for me since I haven’t managed to earn that much in a month yet.

How to withdraw
According to Paypal, you can withdraw your funds to your Visa Credit or Debit card. However, I’ve tried and noticed that withdrawal to Visa Credit Card doesn’t work for us. At the time of this writing, you can only withdraw the funds to your Malaysian issued Visa Debit Card. Currently, there are only 3 banks offering Visa Debit Card, namely Public Bank (PBB), Al Rahji Bank and UOB Bank. Some bloggers have done successful withdrawals to Al Rahji Bank’s Visa Debit Card. So far, nobody has tried withdrawing to UOB’s Visa Debit Card as UOB Bank requires a minimum deposit of RM2,000 in order to open the bank account that comes with the Visa Debit Card, if you have tried it, let us know how it went. As for myself, I have eagerly tried the withdrawal to my PBB’s Visa Electron Card though.

Withdrawal to PBB’s Visa Electron Debit Card
In celebration of the Paypal withdrawal facility, I managed to make a test withdrawal. I withdrew US$25, and was deducted US$5 as a withdrawal fee, making the total withdrawal amount of US$20 only. (See the screenshot below, you can click to enlarge it)

Paypal Withdrawal

In just 4 working days, I received the money credited in my PBB’s Visa Debit Card that reads “PAYPAL *WITHDRAWAL” followed by the reference number. (See below)

bank

Total fund received was RM67.19, meaning, the conversion rate used was 3.3595, which was the exact currency rate of the day. I then transferred the fund to my PBB savings account, and it’s free of charge. In conclusion, it costs only US$5 for a Paypal withdrawal and you get your funds in 4 working days. Thank you Paypal.

The news is undoubtedly a good motivator for those who have been earning online for years and those who just started or planned to earn online. So, go get your own PBB Visa Electron Debit Card, it only requires a minimum deposit of RM25 and an annual fee of RM24, which is way cheaper than a US bank account that I previously opened to withdraw the Paypal funds. I hope in the near future, withdrawal to MasterCard will be introduced too.

*Important Notes*
Paypal only allows one Visa Card, one MasterCard and one American Express to be added to your Paypal account. If you added your Visa card but later lost or misplaced the card, you would not be able to add in another Visa card anymore, even though if it’s a replacement card or renewal card. Therefore, try not to lose your Visa Debit Card, make sure you lock it up in a safe place. Happy withdrawing.

Introduction to Making Money Online by Blogging

July 8th, 2007 by Chris

Is it possible to make money online? Yes, definitely, ‘cause I’m doing it. Although I’m not rich yet, it will certainly earn me a lucrative income and get me what I’ve been longing for one day. I believe you and I have always heard lots of success stories about people getting rich by making money online. Everyone wants to do it, but not everyone can do it. Due to procrastination, lack of knowledge/skills, inexperience and financial restrictions, there are more failures than the successes. As a matter of fact, only 10 out of millions are able to make it. Can we really make money online? Absolutely yes, as long as we are willing to learn and continue updating ourselves with the latest trends, knowledge, technology etc. Making million dollars doesn’t require a genius no more, thanks to the new-generation of dotcom’s.

Where do you start? There are many ways to make money online, for example, selling on eBay or on your own website, trading Forex online, online translation job, script writing etc. All of these pretty much require you to have your own website, products to sell, or professional skills. It’s therefore become extremely difficult for the low-incomes and non-professionals to enjoy a portion of the profits. Furthermore, there are scams lying all over the internet which makes people even stop thinking about making money online. Therefore, in order for you to succeed in making money online, it is imperative to seek a solid scam free and completely legitimate way to make money online. It’s a costly and time-consuming process, but you don’t need to go through all that, ’cause I’ve found it for you. This new breakthrough invention will pay you for what you know and what you love doing without you to be a web designer, most importantly, it requires zero start-up cost. The new method that I’m ranting about is ‘Blogging’.

What is a blog? According to Wikipedia, a blog is an abbreviated version of “weblog”, it is an user-generated website where entries are made in journal or diary style and displayed in a reverse chronological order (from the most recent entry at the top of the web page to the older entries towards the bottom). A blog is frequently updated and its topic ranges from personal to the political. It combines text, images, videos and links to other blogs, web pages and other media related to its topic. A blog normally contains three basic sections:

  • Achives - A collection of older entries, it can be based on dates, categories, author or even alphabetical order
  • Categories - A collection of entries related to the same topic
  • Comments - A method to allow visitors or readers to leave post their comments, opinions or suggestions

WiseBlogging.com that you are currently looking at is an example of a blog.

Why blogging? The reason why most people choose blogging as a tool to make money online is because blogging does not require web design skills, especially for those who know nothing about html codes. It is as simple as writing an article, giving it a title, categorizing it and publishing it, and automatically your blog arranges the whole thing on its own. In other words, you get to focus on what you want to write, and the blogging tool takes care of the rest of the site management. Furthermore, blogging is free, most blogging platforms do not charge you for using their platforms to a certain extent. Therefore, blogging is by far the cheapest and easiest tool that we can utilise and benefit from. In upcoming posts, I’m going to share how you can make money by blogging.

Last but not least, for those experienced bloggers who are already earning from blogging, we welcome you to tell us how much you have made so far by putting it in the comments as a confidence booster for our beginners and those who are new to blogging. You are not required to tell us the exact figures nor the program names, a rough figure will do.
